Obstacle Detection
Obstacle Detection continuously monitors the space in front of you and warns you about objects in your path. The closer something is, the more urgent the warning — closer objects get faster, louder alerts, while distant objects get a single calm notice.
How to Use
Turn it on
Hold the button and say:
- “Start detection”
- “Start obstacle detection”
- “Start obstacle”
Chinese: “开始检测”, “开始障碍物检测”
Turn it off
- “Stop detection”

What to Expect
When detection is on, VISION speaks up whenever something is close enough to matter.
Example
VISION: “Obstacle ahead — person, arm’s length away.”
(you step back)
VISION: “Clear.”
Distance Zones
VISION announces obstacles with different urgency levels:
| Zone | Meaning | Urgency |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | Arm’s length (very close) | DANGER — stop immediately |
| Caution | About one step away | URGENT — slow down |
| Warning | About two steps away | Be aware |
| Far | A few meters ahead | Low priority notice |
Closer obstacles are announced more frequently. Far obstacles get a single mention unless they get closer.
Vibration Feedback
Along with voice alerts, the glasses also vibrate when obstacles are close — faster vibrations for closer obstacles. This gives you a physical sense of proximity even in noisy environments.
Smart Prioritization
When multiple obstacles are detected, VISION prioritizes so the most important information comes first:
- Vehicles — cars, bikes, trucks
- People
- Furniture and everyday objects
- Small items
Photos of detected obstacles are saved so your caretaker can review them in the mobile app if needed.
