Mobile App Overview
The VISION mobile app is the companion to your smart glasses. It’s built for Android and supports two distinct user roles:
- VIP (Visually Impaired Person) — the person wearing the glasses
- Caretaker — a family member, friend, or guardian who supports the VIP
Both roles get a tailored home screen and feature set, but can chat and share seamlessly with one another.

How the App Connects to the Glasses
The app and glasses do not connect directly over Bluetooth for day-to-day use. Instead, they sync through the cloud in real time:
- Glasses upload what they see, hear, and scan (detected faces, locations, documents, messages)
- The app downloads and displays that data instantly
- Changes in the app (new familiar faces, saved favourites, settings) sync to the glasses automatically
This means your caretaker can check in from anywhere — even across the world.
Security & Privacy
- Secure login — email/password, Google Sign-In, and optional two-factor authentication
- Encrypted data — everything is encrypted in transit and at rest
- No ads, no selling data — your information is only shared with people you explicitly link
- Role-based access — caretakers cannot modify your faces, settings, or private data
Languages
The app is fully localized in English, Chinese (Mandarin), and Malay, including spoken text-to-speech voices.
